Forestdale Community Church
What is the Central Hope of Forestdale Community Church?

To be a people set free by God to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ

 What does that look like?

People continually engaging in the cycle of Receiving, Believing, and Living the gospel:

Receiving the grace of God through sermons, Sunday school, small groups, worship and fellowship.

Believing the gospel message of Christ’s atonement for our sin, and through faith trusting it for salvation - Working out our faith in honest relationships with other believers.

Living out that faith by discovering our God-given shape in Christ and how that is to be expressed in the church and the community.  Inviting others into the life of Christ by proclaiming and displaying the love and character of God.

How does Forestdale seek to create the atmosphere where this can happen?

  • Through Biblical Sermons:   Repeatedly hearing of God’s salvation plan for us through His grace.
  • Through Worship: God-centered (rather than people-centered).
  • Through Bible Study:   Our guide to understanding God & discovering our purpose.
  •  Through Prayer:   Our most powerful action engaged at all levels of church activity, both as a community and individually.
  • Through FellowshipsFostering genuine community and the opportunity to listen and learn about each other.
  • Through Small Groups:   Combining fellowship, prayer, and Bible study among people of similar backgrounds.
  • Through Invitation:  Offering each member opportunities to use their unique shape and giftedness in the life of the church.  Inviting others into the life of the church through personal evangelism and involvement in world missions.
  •  Through Listening: Discovering each one’s place in the Body of Christ by listening with our hearts and discerning with our minds.
  • Through Service: Opportunities for practical expressions of love to others in the church and community.
  • Through Vacation Bible School:  Spreading the gospel to kids in church and community.
  • Through Multiple Ministries In the form of retreats, monthly breakfasts, “hands on” projects and Bible studies initiated by gifted members of the church.
  • Through Global Missions:  Planting churches locally and globally so that other communities may experience the joy of receiving, believing, and living out the gospel of grace in Jesus Christ.
